Reflection of class on Feb. 8th
Well, this chapter 1 of canvas
course design is just a basic instruction of interface that I can easily follow
it to customize my own website.
I have uploaded a photo
for my profile picture, added brief biography for myself and attached my blog
and Weebly website links to my profile for communication. In addition, I
adjusted settings to my status and added you as a TA to my canvas course. I
didn’t do any change on the original notification preferences because I didn’t
have a clear idea about my course that I may adjust it to my needs if I would establish
a perfect course about educational technology in the future.
With this canvas LMS,
teachers can really put their classes on the web that they can provide plenty
of learning resources in different formats and many effective ways like online
discussion and conferences to make sure students can really participate in the
class online instead of looking through syllabus or grades simply. You know I
have mentioned that we have used an app for handing in assignments and
receiving announcement from teachers. It seems like a part of function of a
real LMS but it’s really benefit for teachers to manage assignments and return
necessary feedback to students. With a real LMS, teachers can do more talent
innovation on teaching strategies and class constructing to essentially promote
the efficiency of teaching.
Though I just have an
overview about this canvas LMS and don’t enrich specific contents in my course,
I will sincerely recommend this canvas LMS or similar substitution in Chinese
language to my teachers and classmates or friends who are teaching in different
levels of school when I go back to China. And now I absolutely know the purpose
of this class – put class on the web, how to implement efficient technologies
like LMS and CMS to authentically promote teaching and communication in the
process of learning.
