This flyer is a winter gear promotion that clients can save
60% on all winter gear. The images used in this flyer are a realistic person
with winter gear and two rectangle icons. The realistic person image implies
that this online outlet has winter gear for sale, icon on left emphasizes the
quick link for shopping online and icon on right bottom emphasizes the name and
slogan of this outlet.
The designer also
blurs background to highlight the text content and images. On the other hand,
this blurred background seems like the outside of a cold winter with heavy frog,
it implies the high quality of gear on sale imperceptibly.
In addition,
designer chooses similar warm color with jacket on person to fill in two icons to
make readers feel a little warmer in this cold winter. Perceive seriously, the
icon shows on the right bottom was separated in two pieces and filled with two
different colors like colors on gear, it formulates a cohesive style with
realistic picture to make this flyer a harmony whole.
In my opinion,
flyers always use realistic or distilled images to make the flyer more authentic
and clearly convey the original purpose to readers or clients. Blurring the
background to highlight background is also the common operation in flyer
design.
Before design a
flyer, I think designer should make sense about the purpose and other features
of items which may appear on flyer at first. Then designer should consider
about how to design a friendly layout to optimize promotion.
In addition,
designer should choose or create dedicated images accustomed to the purpose of
flyer and make sure text contents occupy the dominant position in order to highlight
appeal information for drawing attraction. Finally, designer should arrange all
components appropriately to formulate a harmony whole for friendly view.

Jimmy, this is not a flyer - it is a flyer template. Basically, it is blank. That makes it more like a poster, but without any information plugged into the template, it is not a good poster, either.
ReplyDeleteYour discussion of the design elements makes sense, although I do not see a discussion of the difference between a poster and a flyer.
I guess this is about on par with average, but I expected more from you. I know you can do better.
